A reward type is where the user names the reward that will be allocated when all criteria have been met. Examples of rewards could be gift cards, badges, etc. Reward Types describe the characteristics of the reward and must be completed before rewards can be added to achievements or contests.
The information below provides an overview of how to create reward types. To access the API for reward types please click here.

If no data has previously been entered, the page below will load.
- Click on Action and the Create page will load. The Create page will look different from all other Setting Create pages as it includes a translation option. The Reward Types create page is similar to the product pages.
- Name the reward type. Examples could be Pins or Badges.
- Create a unique key for the reward type. This key will represent the reward type and once created, it cannot be edited. The key is restricted to 100 characters. It cannot be duplicated and is case-sensitive.
- Group the reward types into tags. Multiple tags can be selected for a reward type. This is restricted to 500 tags per reward type.
- Assign a unit of measure. Type in the unit of measurement that has been created in a previous step.
- Describe the reward type. This is for reference only and is limited to 500 characters. This is an optional field.
- Include additional information about the reward type using metadata. This needs to be a key and value pair.
- Click on next once all information has been entered.
The Translation page will now load.
- Select the language the fields are to be translated into. The languages are pre-set and must already be added in the language settings. If these have not been added, translation will not function.
- The text that can be translated is automatically pre-populated. The user must write the translation into the translation box.
- Once all fields have been translated the language name will have a green check to show it has been successfully translated. Another language can then be chosen if required.
- If the translation has not been successful (something has been left out) the language will have a pink exclamation mark to let the user know there is an error.
- Once all translations are completed, click next to finish. If any information needs to be amended from the initial page, click on the previous button.
- A preview page will load to summarise the information that has been entered.
- From this page, information can be edited or deleted using the Action button.
